Maria Sterck, Vice President of Product Development, values the intentionality behind every aspect of Mission Matters Group. “We do things for a purpose here. Our intentionality persists through our initial engagement with an organization all the way through delivery,” she says. “Our team keeps the client’s mission at heart, which is amazing to me. Everyone at MMG brings a tremendous amount of effort, energy, commitment and capability to everything we take on.”
Maria earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Northwood University. Upon graduation, Maria served in the United States Navy supporting fleet logistics squadron VR-55 as a Logistics Specialist.

She holds two Master’s degrees from the University of Missouri-St. Louis: a Master’s in Information Systems and her MBA. Maria has held a wide variety of roles in information technology, cloud integration and database software, including program management, product management and product development for companies including Mark Andy, Nestle Purina and CenturyLink.
Maria has been around Mission Matters Group since its launch. “I’d been talking to Josh and Chuck for years about the great work they were doing with MMG, and I knew I could help streamline their processes,” she shares. “I had been in the corporate world my entire career, and this role with MMG was an opportunity to make an impact and work alongside people who were willing to bet on their ideas, to take risks and to act with a unifying principle behind it all – to empower our communities.”

In her role at Mission Matters Group, Maria loves diving deep into client data. “I’m a database geek at heart!” she smiles. “I really enjoy the challenge of taking data points that may seem insignificant to an organization and uncovering information that is both actionable and positions them to grow into a learning organization. I appreciate system development and I love the places that cloud technology is taking us, not to mention the speed at which it is evolving.”
Maria is married to Richard and they have two sons. “I am blessed with an incredible husband and two amazing boys. I am passionate about my family, the role technology will play in my children’s education and providing opportunities for children to grow and develop using technology to provide ways to overcome circumstances and create advancements in all industries.” Maria enjoys playing soccer and volleyball, and the whole family loves spending time together on the basketball court. Maria is particularly passionate about children’s causes.
